Required: 1st Grade Benchmark Phonics Initial Implementation

This full-day session is designed to examine the overall structure and design of foundational skills mini-lessons built upon Science of Reading research and aligns with the tenets of Structured Literacy.  Participants will explore explicit, systematic, cumulative, and diagnostic connections. During the session, participants will gain an understanding of the structure, components, lesson design, and assessments.  During the session, participants will develop a better understanding of lesson planning as well as process and reflect on how to incorporate this new learning with students.   In addition, the session will focus on assessment to monitor students.
